Nashville on the Move is THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 1st - Outdoors.

About Nashville on the Move
Held the first Friday of every month, Nashville on the Move is a free lunchtime walking event designed to help employees become more active during their workday. Nashville on the Move also encourages companies to take steps to improve their employees' health by taking the following specific measures:
  • Activity breaks throughout the day
  • Serving healthy meeting food and snacks
  • Making water the primary workplace drink
Nashville on the Move is organized by the YMCA of Middle Tennessee's Pioneering Healthier Communities initiative in partnership with Metro Public Health and area business partners; all working towards the same goal of offering worksite wellness strategies to help encourage more employees to be active during the work day. How to Participate
Just come out and walk any portion of a Nashville on the Move walking route. Form an office walking group to join you and walk together, or just plan to meet new walking buddies on the route from other companies. Water stations will be set up along each of the following walking routes:
Route One - Near the Capital Building, includes James Robertson Parkway, Harrison St., 6th and 7th Ave. Two walks totaling 1.9 miles - Water and information station will be set up at the Farmers Market.
Route Two- Walking from 9th Ave. South, down Broadway to 4th Ave South, cross the Shelby Street bridge, around LP Field and back. Two walks totaling 2.7 miles - Water and information station will be set up at the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge.
Nashville on the Move is for all fitness levels-start where you are by doing something more today than you were yesterday. Walk just one block, walk five blocks, or walk the entire course. Everyone can do something! Make plans to join us and bring your co-workers.
